Barbie Doll’s Birthday – 8521th Edition
09 Mar 2010 No Comments
Tomorrow, March 9th, is the day celebrated as the birthday of Barbara Millicent Roberts, the fashion doll known as “Barbie.” March 9th was the day that Barbie stepped onto the world stage via her introduction at the Toy Fair in 1959. Since then, she has been popular with children and adult collectors alike.
Barbie is also a popular muse for crochet enthusiasts. Many of us enjoy designing and creating crocheted fashions for Barbie to wear. Quite a few of my own first crochet designs were blankets and outfits for my collection of Barbie dolls. I still occasionally enjoy creating new clothing and accessories for Barbie and other fashion dolls.
